Good morning chaps and lasses,

I managed to get a 3090 and would like to game at 4K high refresh (>144fps)- can anyone suggest good 4K high refresh with HDR panels?

I heard the LG ones were good and they might have released a new 27 inch one.
Currently I have dell 32 inch curved 1440p 165hz display VA panel (got last year hastily) and starting to notice the colours and definition are not amazing.

thanks

LG 27GP950 is the one you want if you can get to buy one. Costs £750 and you can get them from OCUK or another retailer I cannot name due to forum rules.
I have the 27GN950 which is very similar but no HDMI 2.1.

Is the next LG revision due to have hdmi 2.1? If so do you know what the model Number is? Sorry just realised you said! LG 27GP950!

not available anywhere!

also is there a difference between 165hz and 144hz?

would 2K downscaling on a 4K display look rubbish?

thanks!

Unfortunatley I'm still stuck trying to get a 3080 Founders Edition so still using a 1080Ti with mine so am a bit limited fefresh rate wise until I upgrade. Although I struggle to tell the difference between 90 and 120hz so can't imagine there is much between 144 and 165hz.

I've not bothered downscaling anything to 1440p, if you are using a 3090 I doubt you will ever need to, just use DLSS 4K instead.

thanks so much for your advise. Now I just have to wait for the GP to come back into stock.

I'd look here too;

But if you can notice the colours etc aren't great on your current panel - the ONLY panel that can do colours and HDR well really, is an OLED - particularly as 4k high hz panels are fairly pricey anyway. It's just the size that can be an issue with the smallest OLED.

I have the Acer XV273K IPS which was half decent at the time but I'll be going OLED when I update my panel as I've already had to use the warranty on mine for a failing panel. (flickering down one side).

Anyway - enjoy your spending - LG CX48 OLED would be my choice if you have the room and desk depth.

If you want 27" size LG 27GP950 is definitely the best.

In 32" size we're still waiting for paper announcements to materialize in physical form.
Asus, Gigabyte and Viewsonic should all have models coming.
ASUS PG32UQ and ViewSonic XG320U should be with same AdobeRGB gamut AU Optronics panel.
Gigabyte's panel is yet unknown and isapaprently from some less known maker. (LG doesn't make their panel in 32" size yet)

Thanks for posting the advice, I've certainly been tempted by the other models but the LG seems to have best price/performance ration for £750, too bad everything I want seems to be unavailable these days.....

At least LG is listed by shops, while 32" models haven't even proceeded to paper release status.

Though couple weeks ago managed to find Sapphire Nitro+ 6900 XT SE from stock at good price for current usual price levels.
(would have preferred Gigabyte Gaming OC because of more compact size to allow extra PCIe cooler of the case but can't be picky)
Also just got Ryzen 5900X made in 17th week, so it clearly hasn't been sitting in storage.
Just hoping that don't have to wait as long for monitor...
