Hi,

I currently have a Panasonic TX-P50GT60B 50” plasma TV. Had it since 2014. Absolutely fantastic TV…but now getting the itch to upgrade to something a bit bigger 55-60” and 4K. Completely lost track of current TV offerings!

Can anyone offer some suggestions, my budget is £1500. Needs to have low input lag for gaming (Xbox X and PC).

Thanks,

That 55B7 looks like it ticks all the right boxes. I will still be watching a fair amount of 720/1080 content and reviews indicate that it handles this well.

Will be sad to see the Panny GT60 retired...the end of the plasma line.

OLED if you want the blackest blacks, top-end LCD if you want the brightest brights and zero chance of screen burn.

You're getting rid of it?

£1500 will get you into a 65" samsung QLED.

OLED is awesome, absolutely no doubt about that but I bottled the £2k+ for a 65 and went with a Samsung KS8000 which is the predecessor to QLED and it's stunning.

Not sure OLED is worth that premium still.. it's debatable.. I personally prefer the size bonus you get on non OLED.. 65" is a whole lot more TV than 55" and QLED is still super premium.

You've experienced OLED in the home?

Will be gifting it to my in-laws...

Nice.

Oh right lol.. sorry I misread your tone.

I was so close to going OLED.. I'm happy with my choice now, this TV is so bright and vibrant and I think size properly matters with a TV, I wouldn't go smaller to get higher quality when playing at this end of the range.

or, you could remain loyal to Panasonic reliability/quality -

if you view in the dark where oled blacks shine - tx55ez952B albeit currently £1700 with better tone mapping/processing than LG oled
or, viewing in lighter rooms, more of an unkown quantity, their new led TX-55FX750B £1300 , IPS, so should get the viewing angle(vs sony/samsung) plus Panasonic processing

Steer clear of the 2017 Panny OLED sets, the judder issue still hasn't been resolved. Read the avforums for more info. The LG B7 is a great set.

saw they have a less than complimentary review of the panasonic fx700 https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1526620692
and that lewis+hughes now selling fx750, in time for football, no reviews though ? (hughes haved a 65"+4kplayer =£2k offer.)

many folks say you turn down ifc option, as I do with an older non-oled panasonic, but near black / eotf are Lg problems too, nothings perfect.
EDIT: need to create a thread/list of video samples to show pros/cons of different tv's for auditioning, but would the shop be a good environment.
