I'm looking to replace my 10 year old+ Creative Labs speakers, they're on their last legs unfortunately.

I'm looking for something powerful, especially the bass for about £40-80. And 5.1 this time, not 7.1

I'm quite keen on the Logitech 5.1 Z506's. Would this be the best option?

I'm quite surprised there aren't a bigger range of 5.1 speakers, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Cheers.

In the exact same boat. My set are on their lat legs.

Ive posted on here but never got a reply.

Ive been looking at Genius SW-G5.1 3500 80W 5.1.

Similair spec to what i have now (Altec Lansing VS3251)

Not seen too many reviews on them though, well, one actually on a german site.

I've seen them listed for £85 delivered.

Like you say, their isn't much going for 5.1 Speaker systems really!

Just remember that £85 for a 5.1 system equates to £14 a speaker. I'd expect the quality to be somewhere between awful and rubbish.

If you can't spend more, spend the same of a 2 speaker or 2.1 speaker set up. It'll be much better.

My Altec Lansing VS3251 back when i bought them 5-6 years ago cost £40.

They're still working, just, and the sound to me is fine.

I've seen a review of the Genius set and they seem to agree that for the money you're paying the speakers are good enough.

As much as i'd love a set of Z906's at £250/£300, for what i use them for in my bedroom. The cost isn't justifiable.
