New 5 series - due 2016

Looks to be an interesting development! Reading a couple of articles around it at the mo and there are a lot of common themes.

G30 (inline with the new G classification for the next 7 series), although no idea what will happen to the bikes. The next 5 series will share components with both 3 and 7 series. Whilst maybe not a new thing, does that mean that interoperability of parts will drive costs down?

A 3 cylinder 1.5 diesel kicks off the lowest range and a new 530i with 333bhp looks to be popular amongst some here

It's astounding that the next gen 2litre diesel 525d will kick out the same horsepower as the E60 530d :eek:

Whilst I'm aiming for an LCI F10, this looks like it's going to be a beaut

M5 available with 4WD too :cool:

Bah, horsepower is overrated; it's all about the torque now

Although Petrol engines do sound far nicer.

It wont be 2016, that would be highly unusual as they operate on 7 year model cycles.

4wd M5 seems like a big departure from tradition too.

F10 went on general sale in 2010. It will be a MY2017 car.

Nope, current V8 remains up'd to 600bhp and near on 180kg lighter than F10.

It will be 2017 as Fox says. The current 4cyl 525d isn't far off the LCI 530d 218bhp vs 235bhp.
