Hey guys so i am in the market for a new 50" Tv

The main use for the tv will be ps4 games and netflix

I am looking at the sony KDL-50W805C 50" 1080P 2015 Version.

The cost of this is £600. Is this the tv to go for? Or is my money better spent on a different tv?

Thanks

I've got that one, it's superb. Bit of backlight bleed on dark scenes but doesn't really bother me. Android TV is quite nice, much more useful than I expected it to be.

How much bleed is there :)? ( I'm sure it's a lot less than my current TV but still something I'm not a fan of )

Thanks for reply :)

It's noticeable along the bottom edge a bit but I think it depends largely on your settings, I still haven't got mine set-up properly so it's probably worse than it can be. I did try some recommended 'professional' settings from another forum but it gave everything a green tinge and skin tones had a weird gradient about them.

Allright bud. Yea settings are different from panel to panel.

Thanks again will be ordering this for sure :)

Hey mate got the tv today and have been playing with settings, i find ( for my screen ) having light sensor turned on helps reduce the bleed a lot. It seems to give a different range of brightness also helping blacks to be really dark. :) Just thought i would share incase you wanted to try it.

Good idea, I actually turned all that off when trying out the 'professional' settings (which I then reset) but I didn't try turning that back on again so I may give it a go.

Only real thing I do dislike about this TV is the remote, it looks and feels a bit cheap compared to the one my previous Sony TV had, which is a bit of a shame. Still, did manage to get Amazon to send me the touchpad one for free, although it's a bit of a gimmick and definitely not worth the £50 RRP!

How did t manage to get them to send the touchpad one if you don't mind me asking :D might see if I can get that too ( your right I would not pay £50 for it )

They've probably changed it by now, but it was mentioned in the description on the product page somewhere. Just sent a polite message to customer services asking if it was supposed to come with it or not, and they did the rest.

It's pretty pointless really, I don't tend to use it often.
