Just set up my 6600k z170a bundle and it's idling at 21 degrees (motherboard is at 26)

It's reporting this in the bios and on hwmonitor

Obviously this is ambient temp so slightly confused (using a h80i with it)

Anyone else had weird temp readings?

Edit - setting my corsair 2666mhz to xmp causes my bios to say overclocking settings have failed... it's two 8gb sticks

Nothing weird about those temperatures, Skylake runs very cool indeed :)

on idle or for idle temps that's normal, your cpu isn't doing anything. Its when its under some load you'll struggle to keep it under ambient.
Idle its hardly using any power so its not going to get warm.

Sounds right for idle temps.

My 5820k idles just a few degrees above room temperature with an air cooler.
