Just got a 6680 & i've tried install some *.sis + java stuff with little success.
I disabled the certificate check so I can now try install stuff but most of the *.sis progs I got don't work even though some are for the 6680.

I also tried install some smartphone stuff but they need to install with Windows sync & not by uploading *.sis to phone, is the 6680 a smartphone ?.

Can the 6680 play games like Quake or Tomb Raider ?, that would be really cool.

I managed to convert some vids from divx etc. to 176x144 mp4 but the phone won't play bigger size than 176x144 even though the screen is 208x176, is this normal ?.

How do you get a wallpaper to fill the screen like a theme wallpaper ?.

I used to update firmware/flex on my v3/v500 all the time to keep up, do you need to update the firmware on a 6680.

Hope you don't think i'm cheeky with all these questions but I really like getting the most out of gadgets, which was a lifelong crusade with my motorola's, if anyone knows any answers, thanks...

YAY, I fiigured out how to install most things now; I left software insallation to "off" in the certs, doh.
Great phone, got some 3D screensavers -REAL 3D woo hoo.
So easy to install themes, unlike hacking the flex in a v3.

Oops, think that's the first post I've had deleted - not bad in 2.5 years.

Also try FE Explorer - it's a nifty little file manager app for Symbian phones.

The rules don't say emulation talk is banned, it's one of those unwritten rules that I forgot about. Makes sense I guess because any talk of emulation is likely to head off in requests for things and you get into warez territory then.

If you don't know already you can bring up a task manager on Symbian phones by holding down the menu button for a few seconds, this lets you quickly switch between open applications and close down any that are hogging memory.

hey, u gotta install sis format softwares, u can get it from forums. those are like normal operating softwares for phones
peace out
