I just bought myself a new ASUS N6800/TD/512M Geforce 6800 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X TVO DVI VGA to replace my 4200 256mb RAM AGP because I believed the 4200 had borked...however I'm still getting the same problems to some degree...
AoE3 although runs hell of a lot smoother still occasionaly flashs and leaves streaks of textures...
However the biggest problem is in CS:S...on the 4200 the game would load and then freeze with white blocks everywhere...the 4800 has shown some improvement, I can play a round before this happens:
I have the 91.31 Forceware drivers installed, no overclocking. System specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 2.01 Ghz
1.00 GB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2
I have read the sticky on 4800s but I'm afriad to flash the bios incase I bork it completley...need some reassurance and clarification before I do that...
I'm tempted to believe that the AoE3 problem is due to my screen...however I don't think the CS:S one can be!?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Extra info on card
