New 7-Zip Icons?

A while ago a forum user (bledd i think) uploaded some new icons for 7-zip that worked on XP.

...I was wondering whether there is a release for Vista as that version doesn't seem to work.

bledd did indeed release some. I think the latest version of 7-Zip changes the way that the icons are stored and so breaks the updated Tango icons.

The old 7-Zip had the icon for each file type in a separate dll. Now it holds them all in a single dll. I've worked on them for my own personal use but it isn't good enough to release. :(

Might be worth pestering bledd for an update. :p:D
 
i've made some for my own use, works with both 64bit and 32bit

the install folder must be C:\Program Files\7-zip

firstly, open 7zip and click Tools, Options, Select All, Apply


There are two sets of icons, normal icons, and black ones, the black ones are the ones i use now.

to use the icons, create a folder C:\Program Files\7-zip\Icons\ and extract the files into that folder, if you're running 32bit, double click 32bit.reg, if you're running 64bit, double click 64bit.reg

I would make an installer, but can't be bothered at the moment tbh
 
that's weird

try the black ones and tell me if you get it with them

i removed the 24x24 icon in th black ones as it's not needed, maybe the 'normal' ones are still using it, i'll strip them out if the black ones work ok
