Hey

I had a 780ti but downgraded to a normal 780 for reasons i can't be bothered to go into. I got the 780 today, took out the 780TI and put in the 780... however its powering up but I'm getting no video signal from it whatsoever.

It powers up and everything but there is no video signal.

Am i meant to have the 8 pin and 6 pin psu plugs plugged in like with the 780TI ? the graphics card didn't come with any cables other than some 8 pin to 2x 6 pin adapter ??? am i meant to use this ?

I've plugged in a monitor to the motherboards VGA and that works and i uninstalled my current drivers and tried to reinstall the new ones but it says it can't find the hardware !

Anyone have any idea what the issue could be ?

nvm, i plugged it into a different PCI slot and now it works... the green lights on it weren't coming on before (although fans were spinning).

Does that mean one of my PCI slots is screwed or maybe that PCI slot on my motherboard can't power a card or something ?

I have an ASRock Extreme4-M motherboard and was originally using the bottom PCI slot as seen here http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z77 extreme4-m/

It doesn't work in the bottom one (far left) in this image

it works in the one above it though, weird.

Top slot is as stated PCI-E 3.0 x 16.
Middle slot is PCI-E 3.0 x 8 = PCI-E 2.0 x 16.

So if you SLI then both will run at PCI-E 3.0 x 8.
