Its always best to just put any hotfix drivers over the top,

No need to uninstall really

Just done the hotfix, knowing me though the 8.4s will be out soon, lol. That's what happened when the 8.1s came out.

That's the thing...I would go to 8800 for improved performance but I see this type of thing so much.

When will nvidia do better on their drivers?

Yup, I had a nightmare with Nvidia drivers for the best part of last year. It's one of the main reasons I switched from an 8800GTX to a 3870X2 after owning three 8 Series cards in the space of 12 months.

ATI drivers, for the time being anyway and only in my opinion, are so far ahead it's unfunny.

Yep..that's what I'm seeing m8. I just don't understand how people can say the drivers are so good - just looking at this forum proves otherwise.

Been tempted - but then I see nvidia threads looking for best drivers.

Bad that they let users be in that situation with all the money they have.

I certainly noticed a big difference in Hellgate between Nvidia and ATI. Lots of things were not being rendered correctly with the Nvidia card. Bit of a joke when its a "The ways its meant to be played" game.

Very impressed with the X2 pitty I have just sold it.

Oh...why did you sell it...was it because of the powerplay issue?

Just love to play with new gear.

I have had 4 different cards in the last 3 months. :eek:

Didn't really suffer too much from the powerplay problem although the patch did sort that completely.

Very, very impressed with the X2 couldn't really fault it. Even the noise was sorted with Vsynch enabled. Crossfire ran flawlessly.

Just never seemed reliable. I'm sure I will regret selling the X2.

Turns out my CCC problems were related to a bad bios flash....my card didn't like the gecube bios apparently.

I'm glad these new hotfixes seem to be sorting some of the frame-rate drops with the X2 though. Really making this stand out against the 3870 Cf setup now.

this fix is fine, but since i have installed it ATiTool hasn't worked at all, if i try and load an overclock that worked just yesterday, it restarts my system.

This wouldn't be a problem if catalyst control centre would load but it refuses to. Anyone else had this problem?

I have my first ever ATI graphics card (always owned nVidia since TNT). I brought it because of full VC-1 acceleration, ATI PowerPlay (clocks down at idle), DX10.1 and it's passive.

Its only a 3650 but I don't play PC games at the moment (not at least until they are far superior to the current gen consoles).

I'm quite impressed in the driver interface, much better than nVidias.

ok happened on my other pc, you need to install it over the top of the 8.3's
i suggest you uninstall them , driver cleaner, install 8.3's then put the hotfix on

I also had an issue when i was using the 8.1s. The way round getting CCC to work was to uninstall the GFX drivers and run driver cleaner. Then uninstall the .net framework and reinstall it.

It was the uninstall and reinstall of the .net framework that got my CCC working again.
