New 9800GT from Nvidia

if the performance gain can be achieved through drivers surely it will benefit 8800GT as well? Same with 8800GTS and 9800GTX+.

Also 2 PCI-E connectors?

*raises eyebrow*

Not been spending a lot of time in the graphics card section the past week or so then?

Yes i have, but 9800GTX+/4850 prices are still too high to get them into the cheapest rigs, which ultimately is the ideal scenario. Not everyone sees 100£ as a small investment for a single component, and before lowened components are cheap and good, consoles will still keep taking market share.

Err $150 will equate to £100 over here anyway.

Why not just drop the price of the 8800GT and have that as the budget buy?

I agree, but that doesn't look good on ividia does it... they want ONLY the 9 series and the new 200 series actually advertised now, 8 series is R.I.P as far as they're concerned however, if ATi release cards like the 4850's with awesome performance that I've just seen over the last couple of hours, then it's R.I.P nvidia unless they knock about £150 quid off their G280!

Cheers Pug ;)
