New A1 has arrived

No, no new A1.

There's a new Bambu machine out next year, with some groundbreaking never-seen-before technology.... But no real information on what that means.

I'm looking to pull the trigger on the A1 Mini, and trying to decided if I can justify the AMS as well... though not sure I really need it, but just now if I do add it at a later date it'll cost me about £100 more...

Do they tend to do anything for Black Friday sales?

I regret not getting the AMS when I ordered the A1, not that I'd have much use for it right now but I know I'll get it at a later date and end up paying more than I should have.

I've no interest in multicoloured prints, so you'll need to weigh it up depending on your expected use case.

Bambu black Friday has been announced I think

I have purchased the A1 mini and AMS lite. The main unit arrived within 2 days and the ams lite and spools of filament a couple of days after that.
Glad I bought them together as I have been printing some coasters for the wife and it is so much easier letting the equipment carry out the colour changes.
Very easy to setup and the print quality has been good.

Black friday prices start tomorrow so may take the hit on the AMS Lite, works out £50 more expensive than the combo deal unless I can find someone who wants to split a combo deal. :D

Just bought one of the combos on impulse. Friend has assured me these are currently a good deal so I'm looking forward to having a tinker with it this week. Should be good for getting my daughter into stem type stuff.

I loved my mini so much I bought the larger A1 combo and now picked up an AMS Lite for my mini. My 11 year old son is loving it and I have him working through the TinkerCAD tutorials that in turn will help support him in school in Design and Tech. My 6 yr old daughter just likes the printed things for the moment.

Bought an A1 + AMS Lite recently and just dabbled with some small 1-2 hour single colour prints. Really impressed with it so far. Now going to see if I can print a multicolour toolbox for it (6h30m). Wish me luck.

I was so tempted to get the mini combo as a better Man Maths value for money option in adding the AMS to my A1 :D

If I was to buy an A1 combo what needs to be added to that to actually start printing.?

Yup, you guessed it.... New to this.

Also, is the unbox video that Bambu have on YT still relevant.? Noted a couple of comments to say that the packaging and setup has now changed.

Thanks

You just need a roll of filament and it's good to go. Depending on how humid the room is then you may need a room dehumidifier or a filament drier. If you're ordering from Bambu direct then you can add a roll or two of PLA in the deal too. I've just tried some Elegoo PLA+ and that seems pretty good (only done some benchies though so far)

The video looks relevant still.
