Hi,

I've just moved into a new flat and have ordered the sky phone line/broadband package and got told yesterday that the landline was activated but the broadband wouldn't be active until the 27th (still haven't received their router package).

Out of curiosity, i have my old o2 router from my last address (the o2 broadband account is still active, it should be deactivated later this month) and for some reason the o2 router connected fine?! Syncing at 5mb and internet is all up and working.

Only thing now is... I'm not sure if this is going to screw up the sky broadband when it comes to using it! It's a brand new line and sky broadband account, so will using the o2 router on that line have linked it up to them? IE i'm now going to have to mess around with MAC codes etc

No idea why you're able to use the internet at the moment, unless by coincidence the last customer had another O2/Be LLU service and it's been left active for whatever reason.

Your modem won't work with Sky as they require a username and password to enable online access. I wouldn't worry about leeching the internet as it as atm, the worst that will happen when things change over is you'll lose internet and will have to use the Sky modem.
