Looks nice, even has a nice new Ubuntu installer by the sounds of it, but my key question which the article doesn't cover is, is this good news for 64bit, or are they continuing to ignore new technology ?

EDIT:

[Update: A number of commenters have been wondering about a 64 bit version of Flash 10. I hate to dash your hopes, but Adobe's Tom Barclay says "Adobe is not currently providing a 64-bit version of Flash Player 10." On the bright side he went on to say, "we will evaluate that requirement, which has been requested before, for inclusion in possible future releases based on customer demand."]

What a joke! I don't see why developers are still ignoring the need for 64bit support :(

Same reason I haven't bothered with 64-bit Linux yet. I guess that they'll need to be persuaded to provide it by 64-bit Linux users though.

While we should continue to demand 64-bit support, it's no reason not to use 64-bit OSes. The solution is to do just what the Windows people are forced to do; run a 32-bit web browser. It's easy to install 32-bit Firefox, Opera, and others on 64-bit Linux.

Linux also gives you an option Windows users do not have. You can run the 32-bit plugin inside of a wrapper for use with the 64-bit browser. Ubuntu does this automatically when you install ubuntu-restricted-extras on a 64-bit system. :)
