just wondered what people thought please ?

Billion is Broadcom chipset

Draytek isn't (as far as I can work out online) - but people tout the build quality of the Drayteks as being very high

any suggestions please as they are similar in price

thanks,

Mark.

I would not touch anything without a Broadcom chipset. It's perhaps true that the Draytech is of a better build/design. Save some money and get a Netgear DG 834 GT for peanuts £5ish - it does not have "N" but who would seriously connect via Wifi !! I may move to the Billion when they get a Voip model their none broadcom voip is crap!

I had the Billion but sent it back as I could not get it to work correctly, even had a a RC firmware on it. Not what you want to be honest. Exchanged it for the 2710n and the Draytek is great. Working really well, and I love the Syslog tool that you can download and run on your PC. Shows loads of info and stats.

Just recently flashed the Draytek with a beta firmware that Draytek Support emailed me and it's been rock solid.

I'd say go with the Draytek. :)

My Billion 7300g was great for a long while, but it has now been superseded by a Cisco 877 as it kept falling over with what I was getting it to do.

We've got a pile of Billion ADSL routers which have been replaced due to a horribly shoddy IPSEC VPN implementation - wouldn't touch Billion again.
