Im looking to hardwire my gaming PC to the internet which at present is connected by wireless. Im looking to speed up my internet connection and seen as my new P8P67 Deluxe has gigabit ports im looking to use one.
I want to get a killer NIC card also so would I see any benefit from gigabit over the normal 100Mb/s that is so common.
I really liked the look of this Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH but its a cable router.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

You'd be better off spending the money on something that will make your actual PC quicker ;)
Your limited by your internet speed not the network speed.
However you will get a 1 ms or so better ping simply by going wired, but no home internet connection is going to be limited by a 100mbit switch/router :)

You would be an idiot to go buying a Gigabit network card if your mobo already has Gigabit Ethernet NICs already.

If you want to Gigabit your home, it may be easier [and perhaps cheaper] to simply buy a gigabit switch. Plug this into your router, and your PCs into the switch and you're done.

You might like the Netgear DGND3700 but it's not out yet.

An alternative is to buy a Draytek Vigor 120 bridge modem and then connect it to a decent router of your choice.

I have the Netgear DGN3500, quite like it an i have been round a lot of routers due to my poor line quality

Dont waste money on the NIC
