Hi folks,
My Skylake Mobo died oddly... But long story short, I now have a Ryzen 5600x and MSI MPG X570S EDGE MAX WIFI... Utilising my old RAM:
Corsair Black Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB Desktop RAM Kit
CMK16GX4M4B3200C16
When running it in last system (Skylake) I needed to enable XMP but set Command Rate to T2 instead of T1 to be stable.
Would post with XMP profile but that's about it.
Tbh, the RAM was probably not quite capable of running at XMP profile 8 years ago but I put it down to motherboard or CPU. Now testing in another motherboard with a different PSU (Seasonic SS-860XP) and similar story.
Trying XMP profile on the new motherboard is fine until a reboot. (Not had time to stress test yet). Can run windows OK but the BIOS memory test fails every boot.
To suffer the least in terms of performance, what should I try setting the memory settings to?
3000 (1500 Fabric)
Lesser timings at 3200 (1600 fclk)
Was 8 years ago I last overclocked so am wildly out of touch
