It shall be interesting to see the actual cards, HBM also has lower latency and can perform parrallel read/write compared to gddr5, which would give a very good performance boost besides the bandwith increase.
Its about time to upgrade for when I get the time to game.
I would like to see HBM replace DDR when the Zen launches for AMD platforms, would be the biggest boost in memory performance yet. But we can all dream, hopefully the cost of HBM will have reduced by then.
Would be nice to see a comparison of HBM against GDDR 5 utilising the same gpu core, possibly a 300 series version of the 290x, but with HBM.
