New AMD 300 series chiphell benchies

'finishing touches' is a good way of implying SOON without actually saying it
id be surprised if not more than 2 or 3 months away
but send me one anyway AMD i want to try it! :)
send me one before matt i play better games than him!

finishing touches to the 300 series........... this must mean the 390X too, but they might hold that back till Autumn.

most people will now wait, i expect AMD will launch the new cards.... deffo more than one card because AMD say that, in about a month from now, but if this is the 390X as well i'm not sure..

i would not launch the 390X till after i'd seen the Titan....what would you do ?

finishing touches means the fine tuning/ testing, or adding 8GB RAM................HA HA

i think releasing only 8gb cards would be very silly
but yeh id release it all now :)
we need some gfx card bling b4 kaap dies of boredom!

I thought i read recently that the sales of AMD Gpus had dropped off massively and no one was buying many at the moment. Even with the 970 fiasco most people realise the 3XX series is close so have either saved cash for that, or bought Nvidia 980's etc, i bet a lot of people who bought 980s recently on the back of the 970 ram issue are holding on to see if the 3XX series are any good.

Its kinda win win if you bought a 980, if the 3XX are rubbish then you hold onto your 980, if they turn out to be decent then you take a small hit on your 980 and get a 3XX Series.

Those holding onto 980's, if they are EVGA they probably get the step up option as well once the new Nvidia cards come, like i say, win win for some 980 owners.

Personally myself im sitting tight to see what the 3XX series delivers, this year im buying a new monitor and new GPU(s), so its either Gsync and Nvidia Titan2 or whatever its called, or 2 x 3XX and a Freesync screen. Then thats me done for another year or so lol

You'll take more than a small hit selling a 980 if the 3XX annihilates it.

Finishing touches also means that any benchmarks are bogus.:D

yeh i prefer the talk about whats on the cards more than the made up benchmarks, they might be a close guess but who knows, and gives little to talk about lol

be nice if AMD could tease us with some techy stuff on the card, i dont see why it would hurt them much to do that, that could be very naive of me but i rly dont see how nvidia could gain from it if they rly take years to make

Even if the 380/90X completely annihilates the 980 I don't think swapping out to it would be worth it until Nvidia show what they have be it the extremely unlikely 980 Ti or the Titan 2, Titan 2 Black, Titan 2 Low Hung Edition or what ever :p

I think the next AMD flagship card will be very special with some interesting new tech on it like the memory. I also think the specs will be very different to what most people are guessing at like it will have more than 4gb of memory. Where the card will be very different to what is around now AMD will take their time to make sure there are no problems at launch.

The Maxwell Titan on the other hand when it shows up will be fast but it will also be very old as internally it won't be much different from a scaled up GTX 980.

The Maxwell Titan could be the last of the way cards have been for the last few years.

The 3XXX could be the first of the new order.

Yeah i think i would pour cold water on any hopes of it having more than 4GB, the 380X will have the first version of HBM which as i understand has a capacity of 4GB, not more, not less.

The 390X is rumoured will have HBM v2, 8GB, not more not less.

Even the first version can have more than 4gb, don't under estimate the engineers at AMD.:)

well atleast they wont all be out of stock this time because of miners lol

i duno be nice if they confirmed some bits on the card just to tease us, or maybe they did and i didnt read it lol only seen gossip so far tho
and i rly hope b4 june bcos u know the big green elephant wont move until it has to! and just keep slurping with its trunk :)

The Titan is too expensive for most people at £1000 so they wont sell many of those, and the 390X we dont know its price yet

but if you're thinking of another upgrade next year then the 380X is best, but for one card only it would need to be pretty powerful and deffo more than 4GB

if it is released 8gb, faster than a 980, i dont see it being much cheaper
not that i care hugely about that, i dont see why AMD shouldnt have expensive cards too

id be surprised if they break the 4gb then 8gb later theme tho
they will want to offer a cheaper option to some

If it has 8GB, faster than a 980.. I don't see it being any cheaper than the 980.. No reason it should be, that would be a monster !
