Got a new AMD 290x

Installed Monday, everything fine till Friday

Friday windows wants to system disk check on c: drive for consitency etc
I can either successfully decline or it freezes when it counts down to 1 second.

Sunday. System disk check again. Declining won't boot into windows. Running it just freezes. I try Windows safe mode, weird colour flicking and freezes. STUCK.

So put old Nvidia card in, it performs and completes the c: drive check and copies/repairs a bunch of files. Into windows 7 no problem.

What or where do I go from here? Thanks

p.s. no overclocking has been carried out

Use "display driver uninstaller" (google it) uninstall the Nvidia drivers with that, then take the card out fit new AMD card. Uninstall the AMD drivers with the DDU and install them again from fresh. I have had this same issue. AMD drivers can be a bit flakey at times.

THANKS. That programme and unistalling both Nvidia and AMD drivers has finally got it all working.

Cheers
