when are AMD releasing their new super duper quad core cpu's? This has probably been covered before but i cant be bothered searching through the depths of the forums!! :D
Im running an FX-62 on the ASUS Crosshair board just now with Corsair DDR2 8500 Domintor RAM, will this setup be ok for the new AMDs?

Cheers

later on this year with codename Barcelona, on socket F for servers. then a couple of months after the dual ( and i think quad) cores will come out on AM2+, ir it could be delayed untill socket AM3 comes out, which last I heard won't be for another year due to the slow take up of DDR3.

They said that about DDR2 when it first came out.
I'm using overclocked DDR and I can get a potential bandwidth of 2866MB/s...
I might see an improvement with PC2-8500 ram on an AM2 system, but would it be pointless upgrading to it?

I'll admit it - DDR2 is better than DDR, no question there, but it's a useless upgrade without Core2 Duo's running said DDR2.

Banjo ;_;

Your motherbaord will be ok but it wont use many of the special stuff that the new cpu have.
HT3, independant voltage controls on the mem controller and core, much better cool and quiet control of cores etc.
