okay so from my other post i took delivery earlier of a RX570 Nitro + 8gb and after installing it and doing auto detect it installs the new Adrenaline Driver and system/gpu-z/radeon settings detects i have the 580, quick google suggests its the driver however some people who had the same issue clicked on the 'look up' on gpu-z which took them to 570, mine takes me to 580, but seems correct details?

so should i try the older live driver thing or is this something not to worry about? not tried games yet.

a) Download DDU and set it to log in Windows safe mode.
b) On the application select GPU. If you are upgrading from Nvidia card, select it first and set it to clean without reboot.
Select AMD and select Clean and reboot
c) When you boot in windows, download Ccleaner. Run the registry fix and fix all the 150 issues. Run it twice.
d) Go to AMD website and download the latest drivers. 18.11.1.

There's only one driver from AMD that supports all their cards, just make sure you get the right one for your OS.

thanks for replies.

before i even looked up amd drivers i uninstalled all nvidia drivers and i searched on the AMD site for drivers and while adrenaline was at the top, i chose auto detect and went through that process, ive never had issues normally with drivers, i did try couple games and not as smooth as id have expected.

the 2 games from memory that i tested:

the division:

maxing the setting options out i was getting over 50fps to 100ish with the odd dips below 50, the game was smooth aside from the odd stutter and the scenery just appearing as i got closer which i think i managed to sort, but my cpu was at 100% while my gpu was 100-90 odd, aside from the higher fps it didnt quite seem much different to when i tested the gtx 660.

RB6S:

maxed the settings, ran more smoother than the division, odd stutters, vram settings were 4.1gb(ish) where as in game this went to nearly 5gb(maybe over 7gb), again 100% usage to 90's, the cpu was at 100% also.. unlike in the division(used high 6 to low 7gb) the system ram usage was high 7gb during some of the gameplay, obviously i only have 8gb ram total.. in this game i was mostly 80-100 plus fps with the odd drops below.

im not used to what youd consider high end as such, but i feel like something should be better?

[edit: i tested Cod:IW which was the game using high memory/Vram usage not the division and this game had like max settings, but was lower fps range overall]

but i feel like something should be better?

Like what? A Ryzen 1200 with RX570 isn't top of the line, and if you expect 100+ fps with all settings maxed on any game you'll be quite disappointed. Especially if your CPU is hitting 100% your framerate won't get any higher from using a faster GPU. It may be that lowering some of the settings reduces the load on the CPU though and thus increase frame rate a bit.

If you want to know whether your GPU is working well run any of the benchmarks as per the many threads in this forum and compare your results of those of others, but do keep in mind that this is with overclocked CPU's and GPU's.

thanks for reply.

by high end i mean more to what ive had prior, compared to the athlon 860k and gtx 660 i recently had, this is high end to me, but i didnt imply it was highest end of hardware, maybe i shouldve used the word 'premium', given the reviews of the hardware id expect best system ive ever had with performance to match, maybe i was being more optimistic, mean its doing better than my other systems as expected that couldnt even keep 60fps nevermind above it.

i should hope not on being used, its from the zon, looks brand new and i paid a new price premium, it does have a bios switch, but i know nothing of these things.

i dont know if its drivers or hardware, but im back to play WoW again, had to start again, but i installed that battle chest [base game - Draenor] on digital, when i am out in the open it mostly sits at 122fps, does drop lower, but keeping above 100 during some missions on the plains, when it comes to the gryphons rides it can go to 100 or just under, but i am a horde, so my first big city is Orgrimmar and eventually entering to the flight part it did start dropping to under 60fps and going up to 80s, when i got to the bottom and was running through some crowds i did for a moment drop below 40fps.. the default settings were high/normal and it seems to be locked at 1920x1080.

my gpu usage is all over the place though, can be 100, can drop to 0 and just be all over the place in between, the cpu doesnt touch anywhere beyond 70/80 as its highest on very rare occasions, yet its not causing stutter, since leaving orgrimmar the vram did keep going above 1.1gb where as it barely touchs 1050mb any other time, my ram barely goes above 4gb when out the cities. since the servers shutdown at 4am i have noticed a lot of latency delays since it came back online. i do have couple videos i will be editing for my youtube channel to show such performance.

i dont bother with the individual core usage with afterburner, looked annoying, so i just use the single reading.
