New AMD Microcode AGESA 1.0.0.5 on the way

Got this update about a week ago (using msi b450 tomahawk)

Strange, I'm always keeping an eye out on the MSI site for bios updates, today is the first I've seen it for the ace, I don't really watch any of the other boards, maybe they use the tomahawk as a guinea pig for testing.

EDIT: ive just had a look at the Tomahawk MAX and the Mortar MAX board, they are not beta for those boards, they've been finalized.

Just flashed it, theres a couple of nice new features added in there, memory fast boot option and also voltage control for the CPU has Auto / over ride mode / offset mode / over ride + offset mode / AMD overclocking mode

Change log for AGESA 1005

  • Rollup of 1004a, ab, abb, abba patches into a single release
  • Fixed a PCIe® lane configuration issue on the AMD Ryzen™ 3 PRO 2100GE
  • Resolved an intermittent virtual memory error with Realtek onboard LAN
  • Improved POST with select Micron DDR4-3200 memory ICs
  • Optimized PCIe® firmware to improve stability and interoperability

Interesting update really. Get the feeling that between PCIe/LAN fixes and the WDDM 2.7 update, we might be turning a corner with issues.

Looking forward to seeing what this brings to TRX40, though Asus has been spectacularly bad at updates. They only released 1.0.0.4 in the last few weeks and all the other drivers were last updated around November/December 2019. :o Luckily most stuff can be had direct from AMD (chipset, IO) and Intel (WiFi, Bluetooth, NIC etc).

I have no issues with my board. I think we're mostly in the "no issues, then don't flash you bios unless you know it fixes your issues" territory.

Won't be touching it.

that's pretty poor from ASUS tbh!

Their support in new products isn't much better.

I bought my X570 formula in December, I had to wait u til mid April for them to release a working 5g LAN driver... yes the LAN port on this motherboard has not worked for 4 months until they finally released a working drive for it

Asus are utterly appalling with their support on their AMD range.
Which is a shame, because it started off well.
Elmor leaking/testing beta bios's to everyone in the tech community helped a lot with that for Ryzen 1. He's moved onto working with Gigabyte last time I heard though, must be a much better working environment because gigabyte don't have to rely on that and are all fully updated with AGESA codes :P
