New android phone, contenders s21 ultra, pixel 6 Pro

So I've decided may as well get the next model up as my s20fe is broken.


I seem to be able to get both for similar price.

All I care about is the camera and water proofing, battery. Nothing else on the phone (cpu, ram, os updates, screen res etc) is of interest.

Unfortunately the camera aspect bumps me well into the premium range.


Reasons for these two?
Optical zoom.
Good cameras all round.
Warn, over saturated (personal preference) look to pics.

I've looked at a couple of sample shot comparisons. And I do not like the iPhone pics (luckily as it isn't an option).
But the other two are close!


So if price isn't much different, which would you choose? Also may be other phones I missed. I'm reluctant to move from Samsung, as I do like pics. But I have to say even though the pixel 6 Pro doesn't have 10x zoom. It's 10x samples look good!
 
might be better to conside a s22 no?. As that way you will more than likely def see the difference between the s20 and 22. Might not be anything that diff from 20 to 21

S22 is significantly more Expensive.
100s of pounds. I can't see any improvements being worth 100s.

The fe only has 3x optical and its not that good.

Fe is the bottom of the line 20. So would be jumping from bottom 20 to top 21.

This isn't a planned purchase so would rather avoid paying 1k for a S22!

If you can find a s21 ultra for a good price, can't reccomend it enough, had one since launch and it's not missed a beat Pixel 6 Pro is good but so many issues with them. Only what I read I will say.
 
The thing holding me back from 6 is that unknown camera experience.

I know the s21 ultra will be amazing. I think the pixel will. But not sure enough. Need to commit by weekend at latest
 
Pixel 6 pro camera is fantastic. Takes a more natural picture than the Samsung I think. Samsung tends to saturate the colour a little. Both take great pictures though.

Yeah noticed that too. I do like the saturation. And it's one of the things that keeps me wanting Samsung phones.

I don't like I will have to go for a refurb with Samsung as you can't insure them!

But a new pixel. 6 pro might be too much too
