Got it for pretty cheap, not quite sure what I'm going to do with it but I couldn't resist for just over 100quid. It's quite amusing that the box it came in is bigger than my 24" iMac box :)

It's 800Mhz, 768Meg, 80gig 7200RPM harddisk and SuperDrive. I have Tiger installed at the moment and it's more than usable.

Does anyone know if OS X is pickup about Bluetooth dongles? I was thinking of picking up a USB dongle and using a spare wireless keyboard and mouse but i'm not sure how well that will work.

I've found one on a competitors site that's listed as OS X compatible.. might go and pick that up and see if it works without a driver.

Don't want to be farting about with a driver :)

I just threw away 2 old Macs.

Not in the same league as that (old G3s), but you could have had them.

What you using it for? Some form of server??

I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet. I might keep it and put it in another room as a browsing machine.. maybe the kitchen if it plays xvids ok. I might flog it for a small profit after messing around with it for a while or I might give it to my sister to replace her G3 iMac.. although her G3 is still plenty fast enough for what she uses it for.

I might put it back in the box and sell it in 10years for a fortune to a collector ;)

As wierd as it looks, it's far more interesting a design than my 24" slab.

I'd quite like something in my kitchen for a "digital cookbook".. saves me looking at scrawled notes when I forget how much of something or other I need.. not sure if it will die a painful death quite quickly in the kitchen though.

I think it would be a nice little project to get the innards of a modern Mac Mini inside a G4 iMac shell.. shame I don't have the time or the skill to do so though :)

At a guess the video signal is LVDS (what laptops use) so it would be impossible.

It's not impossible, just very difficult :) Apparently the screen has no image processor, it's all done on the logic board of the Mac. Chances are it would be quicker and easier to buy a new panel and pretty much only use the shell and arm from the G5.. which would be a bit of a waste :)

I wish Apple hadn't changed the minimum specs for Leopard.. I'm not sure whether to stick with Tiger, put the last beta build of Leopard on or wait to see if anyone cracks the system check.. apparently it's rather different to tiger so XPostFacto isn't likely to be updated :(
