new Asus Formula VII failing to boot 00 Code CPU Led

Hi Guys

Im having some motherboard issues with a Asus Formula VII I have got a 00 code and a CPU LED on.

I have tried testing the power leads all of then with PSU tester. Used a different PSU,tried a bran new CPU, disconnected everything, with and without bran new graphics card, checked for bent pins, reset cmos and still the same error light and code.

Could anyone suggest anything else before I send off for a replacement board ?

Have you reseated memory? Take em out switch slots and replace with a firm click and make sure cpu cooler is not too tight.

yep reseated all the ram cpu cooler has been off a few times never put on too tight.

edit: Just tried with no ram just to see if i can get a different error code but still the same.

Ok, if your 100% on no bent pins then i'd rma the board.

Found it! I was packing it up and thought I would try it with a stock heatsink and it sprang into life! I think it was the custom heatsink metal support legs bridging contacts on the board I placed some none conductive barrier and all is good. Thanks for the support
