Hey guys, I currently set up my new router which is downstairs connected to the BT-Open reach modem Via WAN. then I user a homeplug straight into the mains then a homeplug upstairs and connected to the PC via Ethernet.

but my connection is bad!!! keeps dropping! and my download speeds are fluctuating. I'm on the 80/20 Fiber pro from Sky. and before the router I was getting decent speeds of 60mb download and 18mb upload. any ideas?

if the WAN ports of the router etc allow you to set the port speeds set them all 100mbs Full Duplex and see if it makes a difference.

Put it back as it was and see if the problem goes away.

Are you using the OR modem with both routers?

If possible bypass the homeplugs completely as they're just a complication.

Have you correctly sorted the issues that Sky's MER authentication causes?

Nope just the Asus router connected to the open reach modem via wan port. I got my user name for sky via wireshark. And followed the instructions....
