A big ask I know but...

Rather than forcing late comers to wade through 58+ pages of (largely) irrelevant opinion/speculation/'debate' would it be possible to edit the opening post in the "AMD Makes It Official: September 10th For HD 5xxx Launch***" Thread to supply the latest info (links/dates/specs etc...)

Pleeeease! Pretty please - I can't even work out when it's actually arriving, and I thought I'd read the whole thread :(

The last page or 3 depending on how many posts per page you can see, has all the info you need.

Any thread made about these cards that isn't the current main one seems to get closed pretty quickly.

Spoke to Fire Wizard about this last night, was going to do it myself but if Final8y wants to do it then he can.

I personally wouldn't worry about it too much. Your best bet would be to wait until review websites like Anandtech, Bit-Tech, The Tech Report etc publish their reviews about ATI's new graphics cards. Any information that gets leaked before then, it will be hard to verify if it's factually correct or not and will also become pretty irrelevant once the well known review websites release their reviews on ATI's new graphics cards.

When websites like Anandtech, Bit-Tech, The Tech report start releasing their in-depth reviews about these new graphics cards, then just look out for a thread named something similar to the following which will contain all of the necessary information:

***The Official ATI Radeon 5850 / 5870 Reviews and Discussion Thread***

Or

***The Official ATI Radeon 58** Series Reviews and Discussion Thread***

Pleeeease! Pretty please - I can't even work out when it's actually arriving, and I thought I'd read the whole thread :(

We should hopefully be start seeing the actual reviews of these graphics cards this month. As to when they will be available, some sources are stating they will be available towards the end of this month and others are saying we won't be able to purchase them till October.

Anyone that would like any information to be added to the original post of the ***AMD Makes It Official: September 10th For HD 5xxx Launch*** thread, feel free to report the post or get into contact with me and I'll sort it out. :)

Honestly most of the threads have degenerated into militant nVidia bashing and rubbish... personally I think their time has gone and it would be better to collate all useful info into one thread or even a sticky tho that would tie up a mods time.

Swings and roundabouts, everyone was bashing ATi during the 2900/3xxx era, don't tell me NV don't warrant some of the bashing.

I'm not really bothered by the bashing one way or another... but is devalued the "current" ATI thread and made it a mess to pull any useful info out of.

You telling me:rolleyes:

You got combination of people posting the same stuff 3-4 times without taking time to even read one page back, just to notice it's already posted.

Then you got 4-6 people throwing stones from ATI & Nvidia towers.
I seriously feel like sueing for reading those last few pages, i think ive hit depression:D

For the record - just incase your talking about what I posted - the graph I posted was different to the previous one... I took it down because I didn't realise some of the results were still covered by an NDA.

Thanks for the replies guys - I appreciate that things will settle down over the next month - I got the impression that the 58XX was going to arrive on the 10th (naive/wishful I know) - so I just thought it would be useful if the 1st post in that thread had the essentials

  1. What happened on the 10th
  2. When the card is going to be available
  3. Pricing structure and range information
  4. Benchmarks/review (links) as they become available)

I do enjoy the ramblings in the thread (even/especially the occasional flame ;)), but it's a little difficult to sift any hard info from such a long thread - if always makes it more accessible if the 1st post also includes an update of what follows.
