The ultra-compact Shuttle Barebone X27D comes with an integrated Dual Core Intel Atom processor. Its visual appearance shines with coated surfaces and mirrored plates. The optical drive and front panel connectors are elegantly concealed behind drive doors to provide maximum protection. This new flagship spearheads Shuttle's squad of high-performance Mini-PCs. It is based on the Intel X58 Express Chipset making to ready to run Intel Core i7 processors for the first time. A fast processor is of course nothing without a lot of memory. Up to 16GB of blazingly fast DDR3 modules are supported by four DIMM slots. Shuttle Atom = FAIL

Who wants an ancient Intel 945GC based Atom system when you can get Nvidia that offers so much more.
 
Pretty much, yea. Most barebones systems are like that, you add most of the 'performance' parts yourself (RAM, CPU and graphics).

Quite like the look of the atom one, but like Lanz said, without the ION gpu its really going to underperform :( bad move there by Shuttle
