Installed the new Avast and it seems to be delaying my network connection on startup

I have the blue progress circle on the network symbol for around a minute and it seems to coincide with the time that AVAST takes to go from the uinsecured to secured status (you can see the explanation mark on the avast icon). Once it goes to secured status then the network is connected to within seconds.

Is this a known bug, is it even AVAST? It seems very coincidental

I have avast as well, can't say I have this issue, however I do notice the network connection symbol for say 1 or 2 seconds on occasion.

Perhaps its a conflict with your network drivers?

Running Avast 5.0 myself, have been using it for a week or so and I haven't noticed any issues with the above.

I'm running Avast 5 Internet Security and also experience a very similar problem (Win 7 Ultimate x64). Every boot my internet connection icon shows the yellow '!' or else the blue circle for about a minute, until the firewall finally pops up and says that the local zone 'CableINET' is recognised. Lo, the net starts to work. Highly annoying!
