Edit - scratch that - just noticed the image format. does that even work in IE?

Should do in IE7 I believe, though its taken MS way too long to fix that stupid implementation (off the top of my head its been busted since it was first introduced in IE4?) despite all the pressure from various parties.

There is a way to make .png work in IE6.

Athough it is a horrible, horrible work around that - contrary to my opening sentence - usually doesn't work

Also, how did you get the rotation going?

That's another reason for you to go in GD then. Last time I looked there was a rotation script in one of the GD stickies (though having a WU count as well could be fun - but not impossible).
