New Backbox

Hello all,

Does £68.65 for a new backbox including fitting sound like a good price or am i being delt a funny hand? :confused:

Sounds a tad high.

How much are backboxes? About £40? £30 to fit it is maybe a bit too much since it doesn't take long.

Damn it! I should have asked if it was including VAT! Oh well, i shall wait for a call from the other garage now to compare.

Yep, that was including VAT as well. On a side note, i thought i would give vauxhall parts a call and they quoted £70. Needless to say, i LMAO!

OEM exhaust components are generaly much higher quality than generic aftermarket brands, and in some cases the price diference is negligible, or even cheaper (full exhaust for my 16v GTE was significantly cheaper from Vauxhall compared to local motor factor).

Vauxhall actually did come back to me after i asked the guy to replace it for £68. They ended up quoting me about £110 to do the job.
