Hi all

I have a 2012 2.0TDCI mondeo mk4.5 titanium X 2.0TDCI 163. It has heated seats/heated windscreen etc.

Couple of times recently I have had "low battery" warnings, but the voltage shown on the dash is fine, so I assume the battery needs replacing.
What's a good brand to go for? I have a halfords trade card.
Also what "amp hours" do I need?
It does not have stop-start

Thanks

I just looked - the current battery is 80Ah

Bosch or Varta. Anything that will fit with the same or better specs.
Does the MK4 have any battery monitoring system that needs resetting?

2010 onwards yes. To reset:

  1. Turn the ignition on
  2. Press the rear fog light button 5 times
  3. Press the hazard light button 3 times
  4. Battery light on dash should flash 3 times
  5. Job done, turn off hazards & ignition.

I fitted an 85Ah Yuasa in mine. It’s the biggest that would physically fit and they’re a good brand.
