NEW BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SERIES (BSG)

Hopefully it follows either the Postwar-Pregenocide period or a far flung prequel about the Kobol period, thirteenth tribe and/or the final five journey, i don't see how else it can differentiate and i do hope the religious element aren't focused on again to the same nonsensical degree it was in the remake or Caprica's attempt to compound it.

I can only really watch BSG up to about the middle of S3 before i lose motivation (on attempts to rewatch), I did enjoy the mini-series Blood & Chrome though.

Think i'd prefer the further back prequel regardless of what it could focus on, so much scope to work with.

Same - the mini-series and season 1 are great but for me it progressively tails off after that.

Plenty of scope I think to add more stories into the same kind of time period as the 2004 BSG though - the Galactica can't (and wasn't) the only story (even if it is the main thread for the whole premise of the show).

The mid point of season 3 is where my interest drops off completely too. Glad to see I’m not alone.

I suppose, but just rerunning say different stories on different planets/ships in the same period is i feel, not as interesting to me, maybe i'm a glutton for expanding things that should probably not be (reducing the mystery), but i can't help it.

There's another path they could take, but it would be a sequel and they just do one of two tropes, continue the cycle or end the cycle. I guess this is a problem with trying to add anything to the universe that isn't just "extra lore".

tried season 1 & 2 of the remake, had no idea WTF was supposed to be going on w/ the guy hallucinating the female Cylon, i assume she was only there to try and attract the teenage boy demograph. thought it was naff on the whole, was a struggle to get through just those 2 seasons.

I've said it before, I'm a huge scifi fan but bsg just didn't do it for me. It's on par with Stargate universe.

I just didn't find the whole quasi religious nonsense interesting. Not to say it didn't have some great moments.

Coincidentally that religious rubbish started about halfway through season 3 and put a lot of people off. It was a serious misstep.

Well since its not about our earth they cannot promote the religion of peace but they will do so for feminism, homosexuality and diversity instead of focusing on a good story line.

You will never get the likes of B5 or similar again which did touch on these things but not overdone, or at the expense of the story line.

There was absolutely no reason for that contrived argument.

There is no evidence that the director is of this persuasion and you're just trying to start ****, this is as far as I take the bait.

So you came here to spout your PC nonsense like most threads you are in and not to add an opinion on the topic of this show?

I added the thread as I like BSG both the old 70-80's and 00's remake and someone mentioned the religious side (which did drag on a bit and ruin it a bit for me) so my post is on topic as far as a I am concerned as most shows today are ruined by the above mentioned aspects (all CW crap).

Stick to GD in that case.:)

i thought the new bsg was great and i didn't see it as religous at all.
It was clearly an advanced species/entity that was manipulating /guiding them - it was heavily implied on a number of occasions.
