New be here! i'm going from a 9600 to 9800XT

Hi all new here!!
I not that good with the old PC but i'm getting there!!!
I've been trying to play COD2 with an ATI 9600XT 128bit card and its very slow and the graphix are turned right down low!! :(
So i have bought a new/second hand ATI 9800XT 256bit from e-gay! its not here yet! a friend of might said thats its a really good card and will make a lot of differance to the game play!
So i thought i'd ask you lot to see if this card will be ok!??
Its a bit late if its won't as i have payed for it! LOL :rolleyes:

LOL i don't really understand what you mean! i'm new to all this really! all i have done is gone into the CATALYST CONTROL CENTER and ENABLED THE ATI OVERDRIVE the card is running at 39c @ 527MHZ
 
Well it came today! and its made a massive differents!!!!! COD2 is awesome now, every think is turn up high! and the game is still super fast! its graet!!!!

The card is a POWERCOLOUR Radeon 9800XT 256mb DDR!! what does the powercolour mean!??

How can i check the running temp of it! i can't find it in the booklet!

And this is my new card that came today! i payed £80 for it which i think was a deal! they are going for £120 some times! and thats not with the bigger fan!

Any way i have found the temp gauge and i.ve been playing COD2 for 4 hours and the gauges has not gone over 63c so i think its working ok!! thank GOD!! and the fan is working ok too the air flow is going the right way too!
 
I must have been looking at the wrong bit!
There is the temp gauge on the left! then there is another gauge called the overdrive and it was this one that said it was 527mhz
 
LOL i'm sorry! i thought it was a 6800 but i looked at the box this morning and its a 9600..


And it was the Graphix processor status, over drive level that was at 527mhz
