New bed base and matress?

But not sure about the matress...

Spent all weekend searching for a mattress.

One of the hardest purchases I have ever had to make sitting on mattress after mattress... Ended up purchasing a 2000 pocket spring Millbrook mattress. After 2 nights on it, pretty pleased so far.

It's lovely. Not cheap, but for something you spend one third of your life on I figure you want something decent.

This, really. I spent two thirds of a months wages on my bed four years ago and it still feels fantastic now.

I wouldn't by a bed from the likes of Dreams or Bensons. All they are interested in is selling crap at highest margin.

Wood frame + mattress from an independent supplier > Dreams/Bensons et al.

Got my frame from one of these hundreds of online bed places, nice and cheap and seems decent. Mattress I got the John Lewis Pocket Sprung Value Mattress, very comfy and a decent price. Good quality too.

Had the same issue when purchasing my new bed a year or so back, took forever to find a good matress, I like a nice and firm, yet comfortable feel.

Ended up buying from an independent.

I can't speak on behalf of Dreams but my bed from Bensons is certainly exceptional in terms of quality and value for money.

Bed base should not matter so much just as it suit's your taste. The mattress is the main player here. Rigid for me and something I'll spend a good bit of money on. I went to John Lewis and tried a few to test the feel. Bought the frame and mattress online and best buy I ever did.

Get the mattress from www.factory-beds-direct.co.uk. Well recommended - ignore the amateur-ish website.

Bed base/frame from wherever so long as it's got sprung slats.

Pointless asking for advice on here for a mattress as people's comfort requirements are different. What's comfy for one person may suck for you.
Plus mattress can feel different depending what type of base it's on.
