HI there

We know how popular the 20" Belinea panel has been and were prepping to be launch partner for Belinea's new 22" panel.

Unfortunately it does feature a TN panel like the other 22" screens on the market. However the price should be cheapest by far and its specification should be the best. Were hoping to sell it for less than £200 +VAT.

Keep an eye on the site !! :D

Hi there

Its going up on the website now.

I am asking Belinea/Maxdata about a DVI version featuring the AU panel, hopefully they can sort something by XMAS. If they can keep the price sub £240+VAT I think it would absolutely fly out. :)

This panel is available exclusively from OcUK only! :)

Looks from the specs like this might be using the LG.Philips LM220WE1 TN Film panel. Gibbo, is there anyone at Belinea who can confirm for us?

Sadly AUO don't manufacturer any 22" P-MVA panels, but if they did and the price was low then no doubt such a screen would fly off the shelves as you say. Seems for now that the 22" market is exclusively TN Film based, but if the diagonal takes off, i'd expect to see other technologies emerge. Just depends whether manufacturers want to keep costs low and TN Film based models like this Belinea and the Viewsonic VX2235WM have already set the tempo in this regard.

out of intrest do you think manufactures are turning (back) to TN panels because of all the talk of input lag on 20+ panels, of all the TN panels I've played with, to me, feel a hell of a lot more responsive than any other panel technowledgy and for gaming I think that is most important, I know people moan about the viewing angles but I find that the only angle that is bad is looking at the screen from the bottom up which I find rarely hardly anyone does that.

I don't think they're 'turning back' to TN, it's just that with a TN panel it can be significantly cheaper and fit into a lot more peoples budgets. Probably 98% of people who buy TFTs have never heard of input lag.

Excellent price btw Gibbo. Could be a killer gaming/budget screen.

Who cares about it being TN at that price

That's an awesome price. I may end up going for this instead of a 19" wide. Viewing angles don't really bother me so this looks perfect

The lack of DVI is a bit of a bummer but i'll wait for some reviews to see how well it performs with VGA.

VGA is analogue, DVI is digital. Usually DVI can look a little sharper, but it depends on the monitor in question. DVI also lets the monitors software on your PC control many of the monitors settings rather than doing it through the monitors OSD.

As a CRT junkie, can anyone explain to me what the 'problem' with it using a TN panel is?

My primary use for such a screen would be gaming and general desktop usage.
