Hi to all the OcUK Bikers, I've not been on here for a couple of months but I have news I want to share with my Biker Buddys :D

Went to Yeovil, Somerset today to fetch my new bike.

57 Plate Aprilia SL750 Shiver with just 7096 miles up it  + :D

Bikes awesome, Untold torque, Took me 6 hours to ride back from Yeovil as I got lost & got nicked :p

Bike has Rain mode Touring mode & Sports Mode, It's a 90° V twin, 4 Valves per cylinder & 2 spark plugs per cylinder.
Brakes are Epic as it has the same Discs & Calipers on the front as the 1000cc Tuono, I could stop it on it's nose.
Handles epic but it's going to isn't it it's an Aprilia  Console up front is just Wow, Digital Speedo Trip meter Temp gauge gear indicator time Fuel Tick down counter when you get low & it also has an inbuilt fault diagnosis system, Doesn't need plugging in to read faults it does it itself.
Starters trick an all, Press the starter button & take your finger off the button & the bike turns over until it starts.
Stainless Exhaust system front to back & I Love the way the 2 pipes go under the seat & come out back.

Here's the Advert with a list of the mods etc;

So me Bikers mates, What do ya reckon ?

Also for a bit of fun, How much do you think it owes me ? :D

Very nice - these are just in my budget (sort of... ;)) - love that v-twin rumble.

So, how fast were you going to get pulled over? ;) :D

I'm guessing you got it for less than the £3000 asking price? I'll go with £2500.

Next bike meet I'll let ya take it for a spin, The Torque is what it's all about & how it corners, Stopping it is just scarey, Only using 1 finger on the front brakes as using 2 is just to sharp it's like you grabbed it with your whole hand, They are that good.
And Yep that twin rumble is an awesome sound.

Was only doing 66 in a 50 but they were a little put out by the way I lane split as all 3 lanes of the M6 were chocker, I was waiting for the cars in front to see me & move over but Yer it did get tight on occasion. I'm sure it looked dangerous to Car drivers but honestly I don't take big chances with my life. What ***** them off the most was me dropping into the 1st lane to undertake 4 center lane **** heads, They weren't impressed at all, When asked my opinion I just told them Sorry I was a **** ****, PC Doris said At least your honest :p
Just have to put my hands up & take my points. What else can a Man do but taker it on the chin call yourself a **** & don't do it again.

Pretty much what I did when I got pulled on the Blade a few months back, my anti-social speeding biker course is on Wednesday :D

Nice bike, looks immaculate. Not really looked at these before, but 95bhp/60lbft isn't bad at all for a 750 V-Twin.

Yer it is immaculate or at least it was before my 6 hour epic road journey that went through maybe 4 or 5 rainy showers.
Don't worry though Lads even though I was in his house having a deal I still dissed him for the bike only having 7029 miles up it, I was like How is this possible ??? :p

Not going to change the cans, The whole system is stainless steel from front to back & it is formed exactly where I'd put it myself what with it hooking up & under the seat coming out the back like it does, Looks well balanced sounds epic & will last for ages. .

It sounds pretty epic standard but having said all of the above I will have a look & see if the baffles are removable. :D

Nice choice! I had the 2010 model on an 11 plate, and really loved the way it could be thrown around and the power from down low. Btw - don't diss him too much - I sold mine when it was three years old with only 2,100 miles on it!

Used bikes like this are a bargain - I'm sure you'll really enjoy it :)

Welcome to the Aprilia club, hope you enjoy changing coils :) That being said electrics diagnostics (and remaps ;)) are dead easy with TuneECU and the right cable.

Well I have already had to change the battery :p

Woke up this morning sorted the dog then got kitted up for a ride out, Bike turned over a few times & the battery died.
Bloke before me had it on a trickle charge so every time he would have started it with a fresh charged battery hiding the fact it was on it's way out.
Went over to Multi Cell got a new battery for 54 quid, Came back charged it for an hour like they said hooked it up & she fired up instantly.

Took it for a run out which was interesting in this wind. :D

I read untold about these & other Aprilias before I got it & yes I know they can be a finicky ***** but I maintain my own bikes/motors & will find out myself how reliable mine is. 7300 miles can't be that much that can go wrong, Famous last words. :p

I don't care though She is a thing of beauty, pure sex to me & just like a Top Doris she will need looking after properly. To me the bike is Brand new & I'll treat it like it, I talked to it on the way home yesterday. :p

First impressions.

It's not a bike for a Novice or a woman, Of course there'll be exceptions to the rule but that's my opinion.
For one the bikes quite tall & it also feels quite heavy when you are moving it about in the yard/in & out of the shed.
Secondly it's going to take a lot of looking after yourself & you'll need the patients of a saint. There has been no thought at all for servicing in the build of this bike, I've done a few jobs on it the past few days & you would not believe how awkward even the most simple jobs are. If you rely on Shops/Mechanics it would cost you the earth as there would be so many Man hours booked.
You need to do the work yourself & you need to be ultra careful & you'll need to do plenty of reading & untold research.
For a Naked bike it's unbelievable awkward to work on.
Then it comes to the way a V Twin rides, I had a BMW F650 Twin so it felt great to me right from the off but for others stepping off an in line they would moan about the jerky ride/way the power comes on.
With a V twin you keep it in a Low gear & keep the revs up then it's smooth as silk & there's untold Torque for when you need it. If you drove it like an in line trying to cruise in to high a gear it would feel terrible to you.

So what about us lot that are handy with the spanners & enjoy working on there bikes & have been riding for a few years.

To me it feels like an Italian Super Model, It's gorgeous to look at but very high maintenance. At the mo with the bike new to me I'm loving having jobs to do & I am fairly confident that I'll be more than happy owning her.
The ride is superb as long as you keep it above 3-4 K so staying in a low gear is the way forward, Twist of the wrist brings on a real solid pull, Not like an in line with that Roar & Zing this is more a Thump & a smack in the face. :p
Once moving it rides itself, Tips in real well & the power out of the bends is superb.
Stopping it is ridiculously good, Over the top I'd say but then I haven't maxed it out total & tried to stop it yet so maybe there is a use for them at excessive speeds or maybe they work that well that they may suffer less fade as you don't need to pull on them, Time will tell I s'pose.
Fuel tank capacity is dogs **** no other words for it, Maybe 120 mile range, The only saving grace is you can use every drop in the tank as there's a low fuel light & the dash switches to a counter to count from when the light first come on, You have about 30 miles once the light comes on Solid.

Not much more to say at the mo, Am I happy with it, Yes real happy, It feels Special to me, Needs looking after & I'm happy to be the one that does that.
It's going to be a love affair though with Joy & Happyness sprinkled with Frustration & hard work & maybe even a tear or two. :p

You are lucky we don't have any lady riders here, that commend wont go down well ha!

The tag line for every luxury Italian bike :p

It's been a long time since I've had something this good, I have that real new toy buzz like I'm a kid again. :p

You cannot compare an old 51 plate Transit to my Italian beauty. :D

Seriously considering one of these as my first big bike, for £3k or thereabouts it's far better equipped than anything else at that price, and I do love the v-twin sound/torque and the dash is one of my favourite dashes ever.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to get a demo ride on one in the next few days.
