Getting ready to push the button on a new bike.

Looking at the Canyon Neuron.

Do have some questions though...

Firstly what are peoples impressions of canyon - seem like they offer amazing value in terms of the level of equipment for the cost. Full carbon frame, SLX, decent shocks, decent brake. All for under £3k.

Are there hidden corners that they cut, or is the direct sales business model really that good at producing value for people that don't want/need a shop (I'm totally happy doing pretty well all the servicing on my bike)?

Lastly - colour, really can't decide! I know that tan sidewalls are 'cool' but would much prefer the bike with black tyres.

I always thought canyon were expensive, isn't it soon around the time of the year when new models come out and all the current bikes become last years?

The way sales are at the moment you are lucky to get a new model for the year it is released.
My Trek Slash 8 I ordered on the 8th Oct 2021 was to be March 2022 that is now hopefully, May 2022, but I would not be surprised if that date moves again.

From the road bike side canyon seem very good value. The direct model gives a considerable saving for what you could get from other manufacturers (ie full 105 disc instead of tiagra with cheaper cable disc) and CF frame verses aluminium. Not sure how mtb..etc compare.

Well just ordered a Neuron. In stock so should be with me in 3 to 10 days :)

Ended up going for an Alloy frame as just couldn't justify the price for the carbon. Plus if I want to save weight, I could always lose it myself! £1.20 per gram is quite an incentive!

Very excited - my first full suss as well.

You're going to love it. Modern full suss bikes are crazy good and capable of taking an absolutely beating. Even bikes rated for cross country are fine.

I have an evil following with 120mm rear travel and happily take it to bike parks and jump lines.
