more info as and when, just got linked myself

On Wednesday, August 11, we will be revealing Irrational Games’ new project to the press. At this special event, the press will be seeing a trailer and a live demonstration of gameplay.

On Thursday, August 12th, at 1:45 Eastern Daylight Time, we will launch the trailer for our new game at Whatisicarus.com. Our hope is that you all will see it PRIOR to reading any news in the press (which will start to come out around 15 minutes later).
Trust me, there’s a reason.
In the coming weeks, we will be releasing a video of the demonstration to the community as well. No promises on the date yet; we’re still figuring that out. You can send me a threatening PM, but it will have no effect other than to hurt my very delicate feelings.
See you all then.

kotaku has more info than me:

The Floating Mysteries BioShock Infinite is at least 16 months from completion. We won't be playing it until 2012, a century past the year in which the game is set. In the interim, more will be revealed. The Skyline, for example, will be a focus of a future showcase for Infinite, according to Levine. It is that important. Levine was non-committal about multiplayer, saying only that it would make sense to have some for the game if Irrational could think of something special. He would not divulge the reason for the the word "infinite" in the game's title, teasing only that it has significance. "The name has meaning," he said. After three years we finally know what Irrational Games is doing next. And we know the future of BioShock, which is an all-new past. BioShock Infinite manages to seem both novel and true to certain core systems and gameplay values introduced by the 2007 original. It is a potentially Final Fantasy-style sequel that may not have narrative connection to its predecessors (remember, they're not saying) but appears to be a spiritual continuation and advancement. Setting a BioShock in the sky makes the game appear to be more expansive, its gameplay possibilities broader. A vibrant and bolder BioShock is coming, with more extraordinary action than we've seen before and more complicated storytelling, all set on a maverick construction of American ingeunity where we've never played before.

Not out till 2012. lol

Not really much sense in them changing the engine considering they're still developing for the same consoles.

Aye, it looks like it is after watching the trailer. I'm just not keen on the muddy low-res textures that seem to be synonymous with BioShock on UE3. I suppose that's not the engine's fault - Batman looks spiffing.

Looks ok, dunno if this will beat Rapture tbh, being deep under the ocean was something else

Makes you wonder where Bioshock 4 will be set! On ze moon?!:D

Nah, Bioshock 4 will be set in the floating city where you'll play as one of the big boss monsters from the previous game but be so completely nerfed as to feel just like the weak human you played in three. Any of the magic from number three will be lost and the storyline will be a weak copy making the game feel more like an expansion than an actual sequel.

Bioshock 5, or B5, will be set on a space station :p

That looks absolutley terrible...why oh why...

What is it, splicing on the surface caught on that's why they have flying cities?

Why was no2 ever released...

BioShock - great game
BioShock 2 - too much of the same; an idea where innovation is going to be difficult anyway, a lack of atmosphere and a nemesis easily forgotten
BioShock 3 - possibly dire?
BioShock 4 - oh dear

They did say this has nothing to do with bioshock 1 or 2 story wise by the way.

And also welcome to the land of fiction fellas if you've ever read a book where there is unrealistic things in them, then here we are. Bioshock infinite.
