New bits, bad results?

Hi guys,

Ive just bought some new bits for my computer so that i can try out some overclocking. Problem is, now that i have it all set up, i cant seem to get my PC stable above anything other than default. The only bits that i have changed are:

1) A new case with better air flow
2) My RAM, g.skill 2x1gb (from 2x512mb 3200 Geil Value)
3) Hiper 580 Type R
3) Freezer 64 pro HSF

now, with my old Geil RAM i could get up to a stable 2.2Ghz by increasing the FSB and voltages for the ram and CPU.

I just dont understand it, no matter what i do it doesnt seem to like it. Its a tad annoying having spent quite a bit of money on the new bits. I cant figure it out. Any ideas?

AMD64 3200+ winchester
abit av8 3rd eye mobo
2x1gb g.skill pc4000
ATI x800xtpe
Hiper 580 Type R

its at 210Mhz at the moment, but its pc4000 and should go to 250Mhz. Its a bit wierd because as i said, ive got it up to 2.2 at 220Mhz using Geil value. And was stable when i upped the voltages to 1.6 and 2.7 on the ram.

Now with the gskill i can only get it up to 2.1 at 210Mhz, anything over and it just throws a hissy fit.

nope cool n' quiet is disabled. Ive gone through testing my CPU and i can get it to 2.35Ghz at 1.575v, and its stable. Im just about to start testing my RAM, ill post what i find.

i can get the RAM up to 230Mhz at 2.6 volts, but as soon as i need to up the voltage and move to 2.35Mhz with 2.7v it becomes unstable. If i use 2.7v i get the dreaded blue screen of death when loading windows.

Now i believe that pc4000 is supposed to run at 250Mhz. does this mean i have dodgy ram? or is it something else?

It says on the sticks 2.6 - 2.8v, so yes it supports it. Ive already done that iraiguana, and ive got my cpu up to 2.35Ghz it doesnt seem to like going higher. Im beginning to think that it may be my mobo.... but I cant find any evidence of it yet.

Thanks tom, i didnt realise that could be the problem. You have put my mind at rest.

ps - ive got it stable at 2.25Ghz without putting a divider on the ram.
