New bits for my mowta!

Lopez, I agree. I'll probably paint the rear one black, but when I get the front brace it's definitely going blue or red! Makes the engine bay look pretty.

andi, I've just been messing around in PS and I think the grille will look loads better if I cut the rear mounting plate a bit and maybe replace the black mesh with MG style mesh.

Definitely going to put the numberplate over the mesh in the bumper though, as it looks loads better with the gap covered up.

SgtTupac, does your car have any strut braces? I really can't believe the impact they have on handling. I reckon, after I've braced the rear lower and front struts, polybushed the car and fitted Eagle's, I'll give cymatty's Saxo a run for its money

Rich, bwahahahah. Glad to see you're following in my footsteps. I had a 214 for about 18 months and only bought the 220 because it was cheap (yeah, and look how much I've spent on it :D) and the insurance was MUCH cheaper than I thought it would be.

I don't regret it for one bit though. I love keeping pace with 'superior' cars only to get a thumbs up afterwards! Oh how I want a turbo :(

i'm liking it, I think your priorities lie in the right place, make the car more fun to drive, an admirable thing to be doing in the age of fiberglass tat and rubbish to drive cars (yes, i mean corsa's :P).
Still, I think the next thing in your list is to make it all 1 colour, doesn't matter if its a rubbish job but being totally honest I bet you look like a ***** thrashing about in a car which is half primer.

Front strut brace cracked the other week. Going to sort out some new braces when i get around to it. They do make a difference however :)

Over any road that isn't perfectly flat you have no chance. :p

Why's that then?

Haven't you got 16k so far from your front tyres, not just any front tyres but eagle f1's. :p

His car is so low it would constantly bottom out and so he would have to slow down, plus his brakes are gash. :D

Also 18.5k out of my F1's.

Looks good andy, only thing i don't like is the bumper hole, otherwise good job its really looking smart now, just sort those patches out ;)

How have you done this, my rear f1's have done 7k and need changing.

Nah my rear tyres are on 38k i think. :o

Well yeah thats rear tyres that do bugger all, they don't have power going to them, they don't steer and they don't do the majority of the breaking. My rear michelins were on 32k and still had loads of tread left when I got rid of my vtr wheels on this car.

25k from eagle f1 gs-d2s on the front, thats like 5x what I got!

hehe, I like this thread... cheers for all the comments :)

Clarkey, thanks :) You're right about the looks... I do get some rather odd people staring the car out as I drive past, it doesn't really bother me but I do know where you're coming from... even just getting a few coats of spray paint on there to cover the primer/filler up would look better than it does.

I might actually take up your advice and pop down to the local motorfactors for some paint this week. As andi said in my last thread, leaving the primer/filler exposed will just allow it to soak up the moisture, and you can see where the rust is starting to come through again after I sanded it down.

Si, I don't really have any problems with bottoming out since I fitted the new wheels :p The 15's were stupid and when I took my step brother along the MM roads a few months ago, the car was bottoming out everywhere. And my brakes are actually quite good once warm... and with the handling mods, I don't have to brake as much anyway, so no chance of them getting too warm!

I'd be up for a track day :D
