i am wanting some new bits, Am looking to spend £600 today, and £200 friday if needed. I dont need Case, OS, DVD drive, HDD, Cooler.
Pc is used for all web use, light gaming, and simulators.

set up right now.
AMD-FX 4100
4gb 1600mhz xms3
MSI 990XA-GD55
2 x SanDisk 120GB sata3 raid0
WD Caviar Blue 500GB
GFX (dead)
xfx 500w modular psu 2year old(never had a problem)

I dont want a full system upgrade but do need to get some new bits where should i be at? i am thinking second ram pack, new cpu, new gfx, but would like to see your input first before i buy things.
Also i have head of ppl running simulators very well on the FM2 line of apu's for somone an a small budget is it would getting an apu?

i can get a PowerColor HD7950 3GB GDDR5 Boost Edition for £200 is that good or are the better options for the same price

You've got a nice motherboard, you should make use of it..

Get a 8320...

A 280X for the GPU (just over £200, and much better than a 7950)

And look at the AR01 for the cooler.

would my psu be upto the job of running them both i know 8 cors are power hungry monsters.

also right now i have 4gb 1600mhz xms3, do i get a second pack or a 8gb pack of 2400mhz ram.

to be honest i have not noticed any ram problems and i don't really OC so using 4 slots would no be bad?

If you go with 4x4gb sticks make sure your CPU cooler won't get in the way. I'd probably just get a new 8gb kit, though, to be honest. You're going to have a lot of room left in your budget anyway if all you need is an 8320, a 280X, and some RAM ;)

i have just been advised that a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Boost OC would be fine for my use? and there all on offer this week.

what your view on that card.

For £100 or so saving the 270X is probably a good call for light gaming. Sims are mainly CPU heavy anyway.

The sapphire one you mentioned is good, but for the same money, you may aswell get the windforce.

If nothing else, its higher clocked and comes with BF4. :)

thanks for the spec info ppl

Right here right now is there any reason why i should not buy a:
AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320
Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X WindForce 3X OC 2048MB

like... would a 6 core do the job or do i just get 8 core, and is the 270x a lot better than a 270 or would i be ok with a 270.

if you think i should buy i will wait and see the one day deal fri/sat if nothing catch's my eye i will buy, ever way the parts will come monday no matter when i buy them

one last question would 2 x 270x be better then one 280x? because i may just get the 280x or get 2 x 270's for the few extra ££'s.
