New Brix with Nvidia 760 onboard

That is awesome! Love it!

EDIT - So is it a proper full on 760 inside of this, or is a 760M like in a laptop?

"Supports discrete graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 GPU with mini HDMI x2, mini DP Output, featuring triple displays)"

It seems to be a full desktop gpu, albeit a lower voltage version with slightly reduced clock speeds.

Linus tech tips reviewed this and gave it a thumbs down, the GPU was constantly hitting thermal limits and downclocking due to the lack of adequate cooling and the fans were very loud. A real shame as the concept is fantastic and in my own specific case I would get rid of my gaming laptop and use this as a portable solution complete with USB monitor. It is possible someone will come up with a better cooling solution through modding or otherwise?

It'll be the first of many more to come. With each one getting better and better. I would say in 2 to 3 years time we will have a brix or nuc that will reveil any middle end gaming pc. This is only the beginning. When these release I'll buy one in a heart beat.

I will be buying one for exactly that reason... Milling machine at the ready ;)

The throttling is disappointing.

870M would have been a better choice, even I'd be happy with a 860M, or if they went with M275X instead, I'd be okay with it.

agreed, not sure what they gain from a desktop gpu if its always throttling and isnt upgradeable anyway

I'm suprised they went with a 760 over something like a 750Ti or a 870M. But oh well, hopefully when more Maxwell cards come out they'll try again and hopefully nail it.

The trouble with mobile gpu's is they tend to be higher binned then thier desktop counterparts and as such as more expensive to produce. Gigabyte choose the gtx760 to keep costs under control saying that I wonder if they could have gotten away witha 750ti?

It does seem strange how a product like ever got past the prototype phase Gigabyte must have known about thermal throttling from their own testing.
