Hey guys, another spec me thread.

Little brother's turning 18 and i want to get him most of a computer. we can salvage hdd and dvd drive. What i'll need is:

case
mobo
cpu
ram
psu

i literally want to spend as little as possible whilst sticking to intel. absolute maximum i wish to spend is £250 on the above.

So far i've come up with:

Intel Core i3-4130 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
Gigabyte H81M-S2PV Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
Corsair Builder Series CX 430w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020058-UK)
TeamGroup Elite 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED34GM1600HC11DC01)
BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower - Black

Total price of the above is £236.41 inc p+p

want to buy this pretty soon, and the psu is out of stock, rather not shop from different stores to save on p+p, can travel to ocuk if required, only 30 mins up the road.

really don't want to scrimp on the psu, always loved corsair, and being out of the scene for a while, no idea which psu's are 'decent' would an EVGA psu be a good alternative?

PC gernerally going to be used for gaming, mostly WoW, but other games are played.

Lastly: spec me a gfx card to go with this - what could the psu's generally handle, i assume somethign like a 760ti would be fine?

Cheers!

G

Evga psu are good but the value range is not as good as SuperFlower
8 GB of ram if you have 64bit os

for the 760ti I would get 500W or 550W psu

What's your budged for GPU, this would be good option as it's the same price as 760ti but you would need bigger psu and cpu might struggle with this card

280X could be a gamble, could be anything from a product being delivered without manual, box being damaged upon delivery or something rather serious like the product has been reported fualty and returned etc..

I'd personnally, not take the risk and go with what Jak3 Mac said and get a 250x/660Ti.
