hi guys,

i am looking to put together a build for a friend of mine, want to keep the spend to the minimum.

looking to play current gen games like bf1 & pubg ect @ 1080hp 60hz.

he currently has a monitor and OS.

the rest needs to be specced - hopefully keep it between £500 - £600.

all suggestions are welcomed and thanks for any input.

Ive put that together for you as some sort of base line to what I think may do the job... Obviously you could chop and change bits to suit you... The RX570 is currently out of stock and not sure when they're due in....

The CPU id add to that build is the Pentium G4560... it costs around £65 I think, However OCUK don't stock them but shop around...

If you want an alternative GPU then look second hand for a GTX970 4GB.. Great performing card and could save yourself a few pound over buying a new card..

Others on here with more experience than me may have a different route for you but that's my option for you bud

Yeah I wasn't sure whether to put in a H110 board as they are only £70ish so bit more extra cash saved...
I was thinking more the b250m - bit coupled with a GTX 1060 with the saving.

Remember OP you would need to buy the G4560 CPU - approx £55 from somewhere else - great CPU for the money.

I had -

i3 7300 - £135
Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 - £112.99
Team Vulcan ddr4 8gb (2x 4gb) - £64.99
EVGA 450w bronze psu - £39.99
EVGA 1050ti 4gb - £144.90
Zalman T2 - £25
Total - £520

Not really followed a budget build for a while so not as clued up as I'd be in a more expensive build.

I should have added that all the parts I need to be in stock on ocuk - I don't buy from anywhere else and ordering tomorrow.

Only thing missed from the above build was the hdd but they are buttons really.

The i3 isn't a great buy to be honest as the Pentium mentioned above is half the price for the same amount of cores/threads. If you are having to buy from here though then not much choice really.

Below items are all in stock:

But will mention again the G4560 is the better budget CPU for this type of build and can be had for £55 but OcUK don't stock it (if money is tight I would order that one component from somewhere else) - so I've had to put the comparatively expensive G4600 in its place (still better value than the i3 which has been derailed by the Pentium G series...)

You could also stick in 1 stick of 8Gb, (rather than the 2 x 4Gb), if you thought you were going to upgrade to 16GB soon.

This is the Ryzen build with all the parts in stock had to be paired with a GTX 1050Ti - ideally this would be an RX 570 but blame bitcoin mining for that.

The Ryzen build is far more future proof - and you could drop in a better GFX card in the future and be playing everything on ULTRA at 1080p (e.g. an RX 580 or GTX 1060). Or if he has the money, do it now. As another £60 would put the GTX 1060 in the build and he could be playing BF1 and PUBG on ULTRA and any other game he were to throw at it @ 1080p.

The INTEL build will play everything at present coupled with the GTX 1060 but the CPU will become a limiting factor as time moves on...

Swings and round-abouts...
