Hi i have been out of the upgrade scene for a long time.

I currently have a core 2duo E6600, abit AB9 pro,4 gigs ddr2 ram, 1 gig ati 4850, asus xonar d2x and an antec 650 watt psu + windows 7.

Wanting to upgrade on a tight budget, i dont really play much games and will not be over clocking. Mainly video encoding, web browsing and watching movies.

I want to get a 64 gig ssd £80 - 90

New cpu and mobo £200

Can you guys give me advice on what to get i.e amd or intel, hopefully a future proof mobo.

thanks

you would need new DDR3 ram too.

Hopefully you can sell the existing CPU/RAM/Motherboard to help fund this,

Thanks for the advice, I wanted to know if these are the new motherboards that boot up the operating system in a few seconds as they have a new type of BIOS?

They, the P67 / H67 Motherboards do not boot up in a couple of seconds b/c of their mobo... but rather because you've seen videos/reviews where the Teser has been using an SSD in his build.

The operating system has been saved to the SSD, allowing the computer to boot in < 15-20 seconds.
