New Buid Nightmare :( Need Help

Yeah im thinking that cammy. Sucks to be me then , i know its rare but does happen, hope OCUK good with RMA`s.

its going to take a week at least mate I would say by the time they test it and get a new one sent back. If you have the money maybe buy another and get the first returned under DSR. Its a long way for s short cut but will get you a board for wednesday.

ocuk, they send you another one straight away, leave a webnote

I wouldnt think without testing it first and if there busy does that mean everybody else before him in the queue has to wait longer. I have returned stuff before and it doesnt happen as fast as you would like thats for sure.

I don't mean that, but it will take time, but will be quicker than sending it to MSI

Im sure ocuk will turn it around fairly fast for him but i think he would be very lucky to see a new board this week thats my point. If I needed my machine up and running fast then I would buy a new board and return the other asking for a credit with a note saying I had bought another board from them. the credit should be back in his bank before the end of the week.

ps You would only send it back to MSI if the board was over a year old and yeah they would most likely take ages

Not got the ram sticks connected, tried them in all slots, 1 at a time, still same result, gpu i havent connected up, because of this , Surely the motherboad would do the beeps when it cant detect ram! doesnt even do that.

Put ram in as board will look for memory before it starts up.

Honestly there was just no sign to there being power in the motherboard, i found it very strange not to hear at least 1 beep with any errors ram / cpu related etc. As i said i did the tests to find the fault, and defo not the PSU, and i hope its not the cpu, guess find out when i get another motherboard delivered.

Can be expensive work all this testing lol

Just did it , ordered it there
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

now please gods let the cpu be ok! really does my head in these computer errors! thank god i have lappy to use for now! but was so excited about build then BOOM lol

Excited and boom aren't words I'd want to express while building :) Take your time and don't force anything. More often than not, problems are down to user errors. Check for bent pins on the mobo before you insert the CPU.

I wonder how many foul-ups due to dodgy hardware pro builders really get.

Long shot but, did you build the sytem first to try before you placed it in a case? Only asking as it sounds like an issue I had a few months ago. It turned out to be his motherboard shorting out on the case. Worked fine when tested on work bench, then when installed and screwed in it was on for a few seconds and then total shut down.
