I've had my current PC for a few years now and decided to make a new build, this is what I've come up with but any advice would be welcome.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card
Case: BitFenix Colossus Venom Window (Black) ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)

I'm intending to overclock, not too much but maybe to 4-4.2ghz if i can get it. I already have a disk drive and 1tb HDD from my old PC. Aside from that i think i might add some green LED fans to the case in the future
Pretty much only for gaming.

What's your display resolution? A GTX 780 is incredibly expensive...

If you don't want to OC much, you could go for a cheaper Z87 board. I'd spend a little more on the cooler though with this kind of budget.

Running 2 1920x1080 screens at the moment, possibly with a third in the near future. I decided on the 780 as i don't want to upgrade again for a while and when it starts to struggle I will SLI it with another.

Could switch the cooler out to this one, I've heard its quite good (Albiet one of the uglier coolers I've seen).

I'd go for 2x770s or 2x7970s (even 2x7950s) over a 780 any day. Much easier to sell the two later without losing a ton of money on it too.

I'd recommend this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 Geforce GTX 770 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (77XPH6DV6KXZ) with FREE GPU Keyring £319.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £275.99
1 x Toshiba SSD HG5D Series THNSNH 7mm 256GB Solid State Hard Drive - (THNSNH256GCST) £163.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £131.99
1 x XFX Pro Series 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £85.99
1 x NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Black £84.95
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Dual CHannel Kit (PV38G213C1K) £65.99
1 x Alpenföhn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £59.99
1 x OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £19.99
Total : £1,223.87 (includes shipping : £12.50).

770 is as great card for the price, you could alternativly get a 7970 if you want £150 of free games.
4770k will give some performance increase over the 4670k in games and will perform better if you go down the SLI route.
Mobo & PSU allow SLI
RAM is nice and quick allowing for a more efficient system.
Cooler can run passive while temps are low and is one of the top 3. (others are D14 & TP14-PE)

I really like that, your starting to think like me it seems

Cheers that seems pretty sweet. I'm aiming for a green theme to go with my Ducky keyboard and deathadder 2013 but i can just swap out the case / fans.

I've not used watercooling systems before, thats an all in one system though right? You just stick it on the CPU like with air cooling?

Yep. It'll allow for better overclocking, otherwise a good air cooler will do just as well. Watercooling tends to give a nicer looking build though.

Im not sure whether that a compliment or not..

I'll mull it over. :)

I think the 'style' of speccing is MORE POWERRRRR!!!, the way Clarkson would do it if he knew how to use anything smaller (and less brutish) than a hammer. :)

As said above, the AIO watercooling systems are really easy to use and install.. No maintainence or anything, just mount it and go (thats what sh...) :)

Its a compliment :) your starting to think of the style as well, as Stulid said I'm kinda like the TTL of OcUK where I not only spec for POWERRRRRR! but for looks as well.

Take a look here, this could be a nice green option. :)

It is important for a rig to look good. :)

With ahealthy budget like this, why not. :)
